DMack was founded by motorsport expert Dick Cormack in 2009. The goal was bold: to challenge the global giants of the tyre industry on the world's most demanding surfaces. As early as 2011, the company made a historic breakthrough by becoming an official tyre supplier to the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC).
The following years were filled with success, innovation, and international growth. DMack tyres proved their performance on gravel and asphalt roads, as well as in mud, snow, and ice. The brand expanded to over 70 countries, and the pinnacle of our motorsport journey came in 2017, when Elfyn Evans drove to a historic victory at Wales Rally GB on DMack tyres. The rubber compounds and tyre structures tested on rally stages laid the foundation for the technological expertise we continue to utilize today.
In 2023, DMack took a significant strategic step and turned its gaze to the north. DMack Nordic Oy was established, acquiring the business operations of the long-standing bicycle tyre factory located in Lieksa, Finland.
With this acquisition, the legendary Suomi Tyres — the only bicycle tyre manufacturer in Finland and the entire Nordic region — became part of DMack Nordic Oy. While the initial plan was to relocate the factory's equipment to Italy, founder Dick Cormack decided to invest in local production after discovering the exceptionally strong tyre manufacturing tradition and craftsmanship of the workforce in the Lieksa region.
This combination created something truly unique: DMack's global tyre industry expertise and networks merged seamlessly with Suomi Tyres' decades of Finnish craftsmanship and studded tyre know-how, dating back to 1974.
Today, the Lieksa factory produces high-quality Suomi Tyres bicycle tyres for winter and also for summer. DMack Nordic Oy has taken its place as one of the few bicycle tyre manufacturers operating within the EU, ensuring short supply chains and clean production.
Sustainability and quality guide everything we do. All tyres manufactured in Lieksa meet strict EU sustainability standards, including the criteria of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). Production utilizes environmentally friendly, non-toxic rubber compounds and premium studs from the domestic manufacturer Turvanasta Oy.
Driven by a strengthened Finnish ownership base and substantial equipment investments, DMack Nordic Oy looks firmly to the future. Our goal is to quintuple production to half a million bicycle tyres by 2030, boost local employment, and build Lieksa into a leading hub for bicycle tyre production in the whole of Europe.
